Can AI replace humans?

With the advent of technology, conventional workplaces are converting into digital workplaces. Interestingly, 27% of the companies consider it a matter of survival where the contribution of AI to global GDP is expected to surpass $15.7 trillion by 2030. Imagining the massive influence of these technologies on our societies can be a fair deal in light of such statistics.

The 3D movies and games depicting the rule of robotics on our planet have tampered with our imagination to such an extent that conflicting debates projecting robots as the replacement of humans have been ignited. A longer list of events where AI has defeated humans is circulating on the internet including 1996–1997 Kasparovv. Deep Blue, 2013 DeepMind Beats Atari, 2017 AlphaZero Masters Chess, Go, andShogi, and 2019 Alphastars.

_Still, looking for an example of AI in your daily life?? Your search engine, the widely acknowledged Alexa, and face detection on your cell phones have made it highly intriguing whether artificial intelligence can replace human intelligence or we may be heading to an era of human intelligence augmentation.

The recent reports also present a rather perplexing picture where the WorldEconomic Forum, on one hand, expects AI the replacement of 85 million jobs by 2025, while, on the other hand, it signals the plausible contribution of AI in creating 97 million new jobs within the same projected period. Today, AI has conquered almost every field including automobiles, life sciences, healthcare, telecommunications, etc but do these robots possess emotional intellect? Are they capable of thinking outside of the box of already dictated information? Are they adaptable enough to the ever-changing circumstances for excelling in decision-making are some of the questions that certainly point out the unique position of human resources in AI-augmented domains.
